In the world of fashion, every era is represented by unique trends and fads. This begs the question, how will the 2020’s be remembered? In just the past few years, we’ve seen trends inspired by the 60‘s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and even the early 2000’s. More trends have come and gone in the past ten years than ever before. Many people are moving towards characterized “capsule wardrobes” instead of trying to keep up with fast fashion.
With the broadness in today’s industry it would seem almost impossible to pinpoint one select style. One can speculate that individualization has become a key factor on how we choose what we wear. More people are learning and choosing what suits their body type, their colour scheme, and their essence. In a sense, fashion has become a web of “niches”, and with today’s technology one can find content on basically anything. Therefore, it seems impossible to take one umbrella term and say “that’s how the 2020’s will be remembered.”
There are many ways of categorizing style types, but we’ve narrowed them down into eight major categories: classic, grunge, feminine, bohemian, edgy, preppy, casual, and minimal. There are of course subcategories, and someone could fit into one or more of these based on their tastes and preferences. Most lean one way, and incorporate parts of others in a smaller way.
