Meet Our Team in Morden & Carman, MB

Dr. Tio Bellisario grew up in St. Andrews, Manitoba. He attended the University of Manitoba, where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree. Dr. Bellisario continued his studies at the University of Waterloo, where he received his Doctor of Optometry Degree in 2008.

He joined our practice in the fall of 2008 and became a part-owner in February 2011. He enjoys teaching medical students and residents in the local Clinical Teaching Unit every month.

Dr. Bellisario and his wife Leanne live in Morden. They love spending time outside with their son, Stefano, and their daughter, Bianca. They look forward to raising their family here.

In his spare time, he enjoys many outdoor activities, including biking and golfing. He enjoys following most sports, including hockey, football, basketball, and soccer.

He is a board member for the Modern Area Foundation. He loves that the Foundation continues to work towards a bright future for Morden and the surrounding communities.

Fun fact: He has a special interest in Astronomy and loves taking pictures of the moon!

Dr. Jessica Lautenschlager was born and raised in Morden. After graduating from Morden Collegiate Institute, she pursued an undergraduate degree in science at the University of Waterloo. In 2011, Dr. Jessica completed her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Waterloo. Following graduation, she worked in Airdrie, Alberta, for 3.5 years before returning to Morden in 2015 to join the team of optometrists at Focal Point.

Dr. Jessica is enjoying the chance to continue the relationships and provide the care that her father, Dr. Earl Lautenschlager, has provided to many in the area. She looks forward to continuing to keep Focal Point Comprehensive Vision Care a progressive optometric practice and community supporter. She is currently a board member with the Pembina Valley Child Care Centre.

Dr. Jessica and her husband Brett are enjoying life in her hometown with their two boys, Brendan and Owen, and their golden retriever, Daisy.Fun fact: She can recite the alphabet backwards!

Dr. Cynthia Stephen graduated from the School of Optometry at the University of Waterloo in 1999 and practiced in her hometown, Calgary, AB until she joined our practice in January 2001.

Dr. Stephen changed her name to Dr. Magarrell after her marriage to Eric Magarrell in December 2001.

Dr. Magarrell is a happy and enthusiastic health care provider and enjoys working with people of all ages. She strives to ensure her patients know that she cares about people, not just about eyes. She enjoys educating both patients and the public about their vision.

Dr. Magarrell and her husband Eric reside on an acreage near Morden with their 5 children. She loves to spend time together as a family. Especially if she can combine family time and doing something active outdoors. Thankfully her family is like minded and they enjoy swimming, canoeing, hiking, skiing, tobogganing and skating. She and her family are very involved in their church. She feels blessed to live and raise her family in this region and has been successful at convincing some of her extended family to move here!

Fun Fact: Cynthia moved here in 2001 with every intention to stay for only 1 year, but fell in love with the community and has made this her happy home!

Dr. Noseworthy has been part of the optometry field since completing his Doctor of Optometry at the University of Waterloo in 2008, along with a Bachelor of Science from the University of New Brunswick. He also completed clinical training in Birmingham, Alabama, Kamloops, BC, and Truro, NS.

He takes a straightforward and approachable approach to patient care, focusing on helping patients clearly understand their results and eye health. He enjoys the broad scope of practice in a smaller clinic setting, where he can see a wide variety of patients and conditions and build long-term relationships.

Outside of work, he enjoys sports, including snowboarding and tennis, playing guitar in a local band, and spending time driving his kids to their activities.

Dr. Timmerman completed her Bachelor of Science at the University of Manitoba in 2020 and her Doctor of Optometry at the University of Waterloo in 2024. During her studies, she received multiple academic awards recognizing excellence in vision science and clinical performance.

She provides thorough, welcoming eye care and takes time to explain findings and answer patient questions. She has a strong interest in specialty contact lenses, including scleral and orthokeratology lenses, as well as pediatric eye care.

She finds it especially rewarding to work with children and help patients manage complex eye conditions. She also enjoys being there for patients during urgent vision concerns and problem-solving to find the right solutions.

Outside of work, she enjoys hockey, golf, spin classes, travel, reading, and exploring local coffee shops while travelling.

Fun Fact: She started drinking coffee when she was 9-10 years old because she loved the smell. As an adult, she loves visiting local coffee shops where her go-to drink is a hazelnut latté!

Connie has been part of Focal Point since 1989, beginning her career in the optical industry that same year. She became a licensed Optician in 1990 and a Contact Lens Optician in 1993, later expanding her expertise into leadership and human resources, becoming Director of Operations in 2006.

She completed her Human Resources (Honors) program at Red River College in 2006 and also trained in Opticianry and Contact Lens Fitting at NAIT. Connie is passionate about helping patients find comfortable eyewear that looks great and provides excellent vision, while also fostering a positive workplace where her team can grow and succeed.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, especially her 5 grandchildren, along with photography, travel, and contributing to a water filter project in Tanzania.

Fun fact: She takes pride in being a self-professed “Super Face Recognizer!”

Jordana has been with Focal Point since 2012 and brings over a decade of experience in optical care. She completed her Optician training at NAIT in 2015 and Contact Lens training in 2017. She also completed Dry Eye Summit training in 2025 as an Ocular Hygienist.

She is passionate about providing personalized, education-based care and helping patients improve their quality of life through better vision and eye health. She takes time to understand each patient’s needs and lifestyle.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, often attending sporting events.

Fun Fact: Jordana enjoys extreme sports and has gone skydiving, white water rafting, and cliff jumping!

Kalynn has been with Focal Point for 3.5 years and has worked in the optical industry for 6 years. She completed her Optical Sciences training at NAIT in 2022.

As Practice Manager at Carman Vision Services, she focuses on building long-term relationships with patients through trust, education, and a bit of humour. Her goal is to help every patient feel informed, supported, and confident in their care.

She finds it especially fulfilling to help patients experience clear vision and to build relationships with families over time. Outside of work, she enjoys travelling, spending time outdoors, and making memories with her son.

Fun fact about Kalynn: She has been interviewed on the Armchair Anonymous podcast with Dax Shepard.

Erin brings over 18 years of industry experience and has been with Focal Point for approximately 10 years. She earned her CCOA designation in 2009 and completed Optical Science training at NAIT in 2019.

She plays a key role in the lab, where she enjoys the precision and craftsmanship involved in edging lenses and creating eyewear.

Outside of work, Erin is very active with her family, cheering on her husband and two sons in racing, racing her own Camaro, playing recreational hockey, and travelling, including annual trips to Belize.

Lisa joined our team in August 2020 as the Marketing Coordinator. She has spent the past 10 years in customer service and attended Red River College, where she studied business administration with a focus on marketing. In spring 2022, she obtained her Certified Optometric Assistant designation. She feels very passionate about her job, knowing that she plays a part in providing quality eye care to the community.

In her spare time, she likes to mix it up with different hobbies like travelling, hiking, and dancing! She has an adventurous side and has gone skydiving, paragliding, and explored caves and grottoes. She is excited to be a part of our team and looks forward to continuing to serve the members of the community she grew up in.

Fun fact: in the 6th grade, her classroom superlative was “biggest cheese lover”. Some things just don’t change, as she still enjoys a really good charcuterie board.

With over 31 years in the industry, Pam brings extensive experience and a calm, empathetic approach to patient support. She studied Science at Brandon University and completed programs in Medical Laboratory Sciences and Medical X-ray Assisting at Red River College in 1992.

Pam is dedicated to helping patients feel comfortable and supported, often going the extra mile to resolve issues and navigate insurance or billing concerns. She finds fulfillment in problem-solving and in the relationships she builds with patients and colleagues.

Outside of work, she enjoys camping, coaching figure skating, jogging, volunteering with Skate Manitoba, and spending time with family and friends.

Fun fact: when she’s not in the office, you can find her working with young skaters from the community at the Access Event Centre, a committed coach since 1992!

Schudy joined Focal Point in 2017, bringing a strong background in accounting, which she has worked in since 2014. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Athabasca University (2022), a Business Administration Diploma from Red River College (2014), and earned her Payroll Compliance Professional designation in 2025.

She supports the clinic with financial and administrative operations and values being part of a team that truly cares for patients and strives for excellence.

Outside of work, Schudy enjoys travelling, crocheting, trying new foods, and spending time with her dog, Ryxx.

Fun fact: During her travels in New Zealand, Schudy jumped the world’s #1 canyon swing with a free fall of 60m!

Colleen brings 30 years of experience in the optical industry and earned her Contact Lens License from Red River College in 2000.

She focuses on helping patients have a positive experience with contact lenses by listening carefully and guiding them through the process. She finds it especially rewarding when patients overcome challenges with insertion and removal and grow confident in wearing contacts.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, walking her dogs, enjoying coffee, and relaxing with a good show.

Fun Fact: If she were given an office superlative, it would be “most likely to brighten your day.”

Rachel has been in the optical industry for 24 years, with approximately 17 years of experience in her current role. She completed her Optical Sciences training at NAIT around 2004 and further specialized in contact lenses in 2009.

She is dedicated to helping patients feel comfortable and informed through patience, kindness, and education. She enjoys building connections with patients and continuing to learn in her field.

Fun Fact: Rachel has worked in every single department at Focal Point with the exception of an optometrist!

Agnes has been in the optical industry since July 2020 and completed her CCOA certification in 2022.

She brings a calm, gentle, and considerate approach to patient care and values creating a meaningful and positive experience. She enjoys getting to know patients, hearing their stories, and helping solve small problems quickly.

Outside of work, she enjoys travelling to new countries, spending time with family, serving in her church through mission trips and Sunday school, and enjoying coffee and chocolate.

Alexandra has been with Focal Point since 2012 and became a licensed optician in 2019 after completing Optician training at NAIT with Honours. She also holds a Bachelor of Science and studied Interior Decorating at Red River College, where she won a design competition.

She enjoys helping patients feel confident in their eyewear while staying engaged with evolving frame trends and design. She values teamwork and connecting with people from all backgrounds.

Outside of work, she enjoys skiing, spin classes, cooking, hosting, thrifting, puzzles, board games, piano, music, travel, and spending time with family and friends.

Fun fact: as a hobby, Alex collects nutcrackers, mainly because she LOVES Christmas. So far she’s collected over 25!

Amara has been in the optical industry since 2013 and joined Focal Point in 2024. She completed her Optician training at NAIT in 2024, graduating with Honours in Optical Sciences, and also earned her CCOA designation in 2014.

She focuses on helping patients find eyewear that fits well and suits their style, while ensuring a positive and supportive experience. She values honesty and finding the best solutions for each individual.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family, exercising, cooking, and playing music.Fun Fact: When Amara was a kid, she wanted to be a music teacher. She can play the piano, flute, and alto saxophone!

Colleen has 15 years of experience in the optical industry and completed her CCOA certification in 2011.

She enjoys helping patients find eyewear that looks good, feels good, and supports clear vision, with a strong appreciation for the fashion side of frame selection. She aims to make patients feel confident in their eyewear choices.

Outside of work, she enjoys running, reading, camping, crafting, and anything involving peanut butter, including peanut butter M&M’s.

Fun fact: Colleen LOVES peanut butter. She averages about two servings a day… It’s a good thing she’s not allergic to peanuts!

Eryn joined the Focal Point team in August 2007. She completed her Optician training in 2019.  Eryn is our in-house Lab Manager. Her attention to detail is important in ensuring your glasses are manufactured in accordance with our high standards.

In her spare time, she keeps busy participating in outdoor activities. Eryn and her son support her husband Eric and their other son in dirt car racing!

Fun fact: Eryn loves to play hockey and could skate before she could walk!

Faylin has 3 years of experience in the optical industry and completed her CCOA certification in June 2025.

She takes a friendly, patient-focused approach and works to make every patient feel comfortable and supported while choosing eyewear that suits them well.

Outside of work, she enjoys summer, campfires with friends and family, and spending time with her children, which is her favourite thing to do.

Jocelyn has 35 years of experience in the optical industry and 25 years at Focal Point. She completed her Optometric Assistant certification in 1993 through NCCA after attending Providence Bible College in 1989.

She brings a relaxed and experienced approach to patient care, helping people feel comfortable and confident throughout their eyewear experience. She enjoys building long-term relationships with patients.

Outside of work, she enjoys family time, walking, golfing, and camping.Fun fact: Instead of buying herself a coffee every day, Jocelyn supports a CNIB guide dog and a World Vision Child!

Laura has 5 years of industry experience, including 2 years as a technician and 4 months as a dispenser. She earned her Canadian Certified Optometric Assistant designation in 2023.

She brings empathy, patience, and care to her role, helping patients navigate information and feel comfortable throughout their eyewear journey. She values building relationships with patients over time.

Outside of work, she teaches ballet, hip hop, and jazz funk dance for children and adults and is actively involved in her church as a youth sponsor.

Nadea has been in the optical industry for 11 years and joined Focal Point about 3 years ago. She completed her Administrative Assistant training at Red River College in 2015 and earned her CCOA designation around 2017.

She enjoys working in the lab, especially making glasses and helping patients see clearly.

Outside of work, she enjoys travelling, going to the gym, and spending time outdoors.Fun Fact: You could call Nadea a “Jill of all trades” as she also enjoys modelling in her free time! A woman who excels in all her endeavours!

Nancy has over 21 years of experience in the optical industry and earned her Canadian Certified Optometric Assistant designation in 2007.

She has worked in a variety of roles across the clinic, supporting patients through eyewear selection, lab work, and front desk care. She is committed to treating every patient with respect and helping them find solutions that meet their needs.

She values serving both patients and her team and enjoys the variety her role provides each day.

Outside of work, she enjoys time with her family, her community, church involvement, and spending time outdoors.

Olena has 3 years of experience in the optical industry and completed her CCOA certification in 2024. She has been with Focal Point since August 2022.

She focuses on patient-centered care and helping individuals find eyewear that suits both their vision and lifestyle needs.

Outside of work, she enjoys painting, photography, and travelling.

Sherry has been with Focal Point since October 2016 and brings nearly 10 years of experience in the optical industry. She completed her CCOA designation in 2018.

She enjoys making frame selection a fun and relaxed experience, often filled with laughter, while helping patients find eyewear that fits their style and needs. She is also expanding her work into low vision products and dispensing.

Outside of work, she enjoys time in the kitchen, farm life, growing and preserving food, and making homemade cheeses using fresh milk from her cow.Fun fact: Among her many interests, Sherry is an animal lover and has a special bond with her two-year old cow Bessie, and her silkie chickens!

Sonia has 4 years of experience in the optical industry and earned her CCOA certification in 2023.

She brings a friendly, patient, and understanding approach to helping patients find eyewear that makes them feel confident and comfortable. She enjoys seeing the difference new glasses can make in a patient’s life.

Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, biking, kayaking, music, concerts, singing, dancing, reading, and learning new hobbies.

Abigail has just under 2 years of experience in the optical field and holds a Bachelor of Science from Providence University College (2023).

She brings a calm and joyful approach to patient care and enjoys seeing patients leave with a smile after their visit. Outside of work, she coaches gymnastics and enjoys spending time with family and friends. Fun fact: Abby is a big Taylor Swift fan and recently went to her Eras Tour in Minneapolis!

Alissa has been in the industry for almost 4 years and brings a joyful, understanding, and empathetic approach to patient care.

She enjoys continuing to learn and grow in her role. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, working out, travelling, and spending time with friends.

Colleen has been in the industry since September 2017 and brings both technical skill and compassionate patient care to her role.

She focuses on creating a relaxed and reassuring environment, making sure patients understand each step of their visit. She enjoys the variety in her role, balancing patient interaction with technical work.

Outside of work, she enjoys skiing, boating, snowmobiling, and spending time at the cabin with her family.

Fun fact: Her kids are featured on the cover of our children’s package brochures!

Caroline has 1.5 years of industry experience and recently joined the team. She completed her Optician training at Douglas College in 2024.

She brings a positive and upbeat approach to patient care and enjoys working with technology and equipment to create an efficient and comfortable experience.

Outside of work, she enjoys sports, being outdoors, and spending time with friends and her community.

Jenny has been a friendly and welcoming presence at our front desk since 2016. Known for her warm and bubbly personality, she’s great at connecting with people and making them feel at ease!

Outside of work, she enjoys connecting with people through her photography, fishing, cooking, baking, and spending time with her friends and family.

Fun fact: She moved to Canada from Germany when she was ten and speaks fluent German!

Jenny has 14 years of industry experience and has been with Focal Point for 2 years. She completed her CCOA certification in 2015.

She brings a friendly and professional approach to patient care and enjoys learning about eye conditions and helping patients understand their care. She values meeting new people and meaningful conversations.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons, golfing, baseball, curling, outdoor activities, and reading.

Jessica joined Focal Point’s front desk team in April 2022. Her warm, friendly smile will immediately make you feel welcome!

Jessica enjoys volunteering with the youth, hiking, and reading outside of work.

Lea’s supportive and diplomatic character is perfect for performing the preliminary tests the optometrist needs for your eye health examination. Lea is exceptional at making you feel comfortable and at ease.

Outside of work, Lea enjoys reading and sports, especially basketball and volleyball.

Martha joined our team as a pre-exam technician in the fall of 2021.  Martha’s supportive, conscientious, and caring personality will make you feel at ease and cared for during your pre-exam tests.  Martha completed her Canadian Certified Optometric Assistant course in the spring of 2023.

Outside of work, Martha enjoys camping, chocolate, and anything Disney!

Melissa works as a technician and at the front desk. She brings a welcome efficiency (as well as a sassy sense of humour) to our team.

She and her husband, Benny, live in Winkler with their sweet boy, Cameron, their daughter, Jennalie, and their dog, Winston.

Trudy has 4.5 years of experience in the industry and earned her CCOA designation through the Canadian Association of Optometrists in 2023.

She takes a diligent and understanding approach with patients and enjoys the small, meaningful conversations she has throughout the day.

Outside of work, she enjoys baking, travelling, and outdoor activities.

Reghyn has 5 years of experience in the optical industry and has worked as an Eyewear Consultant since 2021 and as an Ocular Hygienist since 2025. She completed her CCOA designation through the Canadian Association of Optometrists in 2023 and attended the Dry Eye Summit in 2025 for advanced ocular hygiene training.

She is passionate about helping patients find eyewear they love while also supporting optimal vision and eye health, including dry eye care. Her approach is focused on meeting patient needs and improving both comfort and visual clarity.

Outside of work, she enjoys baseball, bike rides, hiking, fishing with her husband Ryan, and spending time with friends over coffee or drinks.

Naomi joined the team in February 2023 and has 3 years of industry experience. She completed her Administrative Assistant training at Herzing College in 2024 and earned her CCOA designation in 2025.

She brings a friendly and efficient approach to patient care and enjoys working closely with both patients and her team.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with friends and doing crafts.

Tanya is new to the optical field and has been with the team for a few months, gaining experience in both front desk and technician roles.

She approaches patients with patience and an open mind, striving to create a warm and welcoming experience for everyone who visits.

Outside of work, she enjoys working out, baking, spending time with friends, and being involved in her church.
